The CLIU staff supports and consults with 14 school districts within Carbon and Lehigh Counties to provide information pertaining to the least restrictive environment for all children. The Gaskin case has renewed attention on the considerations that enter into program development and placement decisions made by IEP teams. The anticipated outcome of Gaskin Settlement agreement is to increase the number of students with disabilities included in regular education classes that enable students to meaningfully participate in and benefit from instruction in general education.
